“Gazprom-UGRA” forward Dmitriy Lyskov is an experienced European fighter, the owner of the silver of the last two championships of the continent. Now he is preparing for the third European campaign as part of the Russian team.

– Did something else change in the mode of preparation of the national team together with the training place for the EURO?
– In general, almost nothing has changed, everything is as usual, and the emphasis is now on physical training.

– They say you even run crosses in winter on the snow?
– And we get pleasure from them,in the open air, it’s easy to breath when it’s slightly below zero.

– Gradually the team loses leaders, those who led the team to the European awards – Cirilo, Sergeev, Gustavo, Pereverzev is not in it. Do the losses affect?
– I would not say that. The place of the left ones is occupied by new leaders, and the young players are also a part of it, and they are well prepared.

– Do you consider yourself a new leader?
– I try to demonstrate all the accumulated skills during the games, being an experienced player I give advice to young partners, but I do not distinguish myself. To decide who is our leader is the destiny of the press.

– Do the downgrading of Gazprom-UGRA before the pause in the Russian championship affects your moral state?
– Firstly, the championship of Russia is still far from the end, and we will do our best to regain the leadership in it. And secondly, the atmosphere of the national team captures from the first hours of presence at it, and all thoughts are aimed only at fulfilling the goal set for us in Ljubljana which is to win the European Championship.
