On the 23^rd of February in Syktivkar started the games of the 3^rd round between the clubs of the Russian Superleage (players 1998-99 y.of.b.).

The first match day started with the game between the elders of “Gazprom-UGRA” and “Uhta”. “Ugra” scored the first goal, then doubled it. They did’t wait to get the third one either. However after that “Uhta” players left up their heads and almost reached the adversary. The second half kept the audience in suspence untill the very end. The score was 4 to 3 for “Gazprom-UGRA”. Uhtinians started the 5 against 4 game, but the risk came short. The northerners couldn’t take advantage with ne extra player. The Ugorsk team, on the contrary, could lead a lighting counterattack and set the final score — 5 to 3 in their favor!

The next game was between the youth of “Novaya Generatsia” and “Progress” from Glazov. According to the squad announced by the guests, it could be seen they didn’t look for much in Syktivkar. Only 6 field players and 2 goalkeprs came out for the game against the yellow-blue. For some time the team from Glazov had enough strength while the team from Syktivkar lost their hope and the score was 0 to 0. But 6 minutes before the interval “Generatsia” scored the first goal.  Two minutes later the hosts converted two more moments and the score was 3 to 0 in favor of the team of Pavel Latkin. The goalkeeper of “Generatsia”, Anton Seleznev, twice helped the team in the end of the first half. The hosts started the second half with another goalkeeper, Saveliy Nikiforov. The half was totally controlled by “Generatsia” with goals only at the beginning of the game. Before scoring, the team from Syktivkar missed one ball. In response the hosts scored two. The final score was 5 to 1, “Novaya Generatsia” won.
