I’ll start with the importance of reaching the final: for our club it happens for the first time. We could smell the gunpowder of the final games we had lack of so badly. Worst-first: it happened at a home game. But today I was happy to see guys’ attitude, even though they understood: nine goals from “Gazprom” is very difficult to recover, everyone played for the result and wanted to win.

At the last press conference I said that the honor is very important and it is necessary to defend it with dignity. Our fans came with us and they believe in us and support in the most difficult moments, for what we thank them very much. And of course, thanks to all the players who earned the victory and defended the honor and their club.

Kaka, head coach of the FC “Gazprom-UGRA”:
As I said after the first match the same I can say now, the result is unexpected. We had opportunities to win but we did not use them. Now we have to draw conclusions.

But despite the fact that we lost today, for which I apologize to the fans, we still won the Cup, although not with the expected result. Congratulations to all of us that we were able to win the first major trophy here. Once again, congratulations to everyone and I think that this great victory was well-deserved. And now it is the time to switch to the championship.

Andrey Afanasiev, player of the FC “Gazprom-UGRA”:
The feeling are the most positive, although the game was not that good. It is difficult to realize that the score was 9: 1 on the opponent’s field, and they have to get eight goals to achieve us … Maybe we didn’t really set up for the game although you couldn’t tell it at the warm-up and the changing room. We have ben trying to get the Cup and we got it. It was nice to see so many fans, we have not played here for a long time.

Zviad Kupatadze, goalkeeper of the FC “Gazprom-UGRA”:
The emotions are very pleasant, it is the first time when we raised the Cup in Yugorsk. It is symbolically that the first time we won it wasn’t at home. We are very happy to give this joy to our fans. Local people should be proud that our club is from this small town, the champion of Russia, such a big country. Congratulations to all the inhabitants of Yugorsk.
