The host of the next Futsal World Cup to be held in 2020 will be Lithuania.
The decision was taken at the eighth meeting of the FIFA Council, which was held today, October 26, in Kigali (Rwanda).

Recall that the previous World Cup Futsal held in the fall of 2016 in Colombia. According to its results, the Russian national team became the vice-champion of the world. Previously, the futsal championship was hosted by Thailand (2012), Brazil (2008), Taiwan (2004), Guatemala (2000), Spain (1996), Hong Kong (1992) and the Netherlands (1989).

The main futsal tournament of the planet will return to the territory of Europe after 24 years.
