March 27, the Russian national team U19 enters the qualifying stage of the European Youth Championship.

Our team will play against Belarus at 20:00 Moscow time. A little earlier, at 17:00, two other representatives of selection group 6 will meet: Greece and the Czech Republic.

Our team U19 for the first time in history will hold an official (not having the status of a friendly) match. A similar debut will be noted by senior coach Konstantin Mayevsky.

The first attempt at the level of control meetings was held for juniors in January of this year: in Portugal, our team won the first match with a score of 1: 0 and lost in the second 0: 4.

All matches of the Main qualifying round of EURO-19 in group 6 will be shown live on the website of AMFR.

Russia, Belarus and the Czech Republic will mark the debut of EURO 19, but the Greeks did it earlier: the team went through the main round to the Main Round, where they managed to circumvent Montenegro (1-1), Andorra (4-3) and Lithuania (6-3 ).

Russian team mentor Konstantin Mayevsky told about the readiness of the team for a responsible start in an interview with Russia Today Agency:

“I have the same condition as the team. I want to play faster. We have enough time to prepare and live in anticipation of this tournament. I can’t say that there is some kind of jitter. On the contrary, everything is clear and understandable for us. “We’ve done a lot of work. Yes, you can always talk about the lack of time, because we don’t have cycles like clubs. But we’ve been engaged for a long time just by the standards of national teams.”

In the final stage of EURO 19 (September 2019, Riga), only the winners of the 7 qualifying groups of the Main Round will win. At the moment, the participation was already guaranteed by the Spanish national team, and Latvia, as owners, does not participate in the selection.

The calendar of all matches and the standings of the teams can be found on the UEFA website.

Russian team lineup:

Goalkeepers: Denis Subbotin (Tyumen, Tyumen); Kirill Yarullin (Sinara, Yekaterinburg)

Field players: Pavel Karpov, Evgeny Kozyrchikov, Maksim Okulov (all – “Sinara”, Ekaterinburg); Ilya Barbakov, Kamil Gereykhanov (both are Tyumen); Vladislav Golovachev, Denis Titkov (both – Spartak, Moscow); Danil Karpyuk (Dynamo, Moscow region); Danil Samusenko (Sibiryak, Novosibirsk); Igor Chernyavsky (Gazprom-Ugra).
