In a tense match between the national teams of Russia and Iran in the framework of the Olympic futsal tournament, our team pulls out a victory from an opponent 2-1 and guarantees itself participation in the semifinals!

We remind you that Igor Chernyavsky, a player of the Gazprom-UGRA youth team, is part of the country’s junior futsal team.

In the first half, the teams were looking at each other. The fight was mainly in the center of the pitch and there were no moments as such – the rivals safely disturbed the goalkeepers a few times. Our team used long passes, the Iranians did not always keep up with the ball, but this did not bring results.

The game went forward only in the second half of the meeting: first, Alizadeh, who had several opportunities at the start of the second half, managed on the third attempt to hit the gate of the Russian team, but almost immediately a six-meter goal was assigned to the Iranian team, which Karpyuk confidently realized.

The ending of the meeting was held in an acute struggle, but without a clear risk – in case of defeat, the Iranians lost their chances of getting out of the group, while for the Russians the situation with a draw outcome was very complicated. After a time-out, our team turned up the pace and counterattack a minute before the whistle brought success – Ilya Fedorov scored the second goal! Our rivals immediately released the fifth field player, but could not be saved. Score 2-1 and our team goes to the next round!
