In the first World Cup playoff qualification match the Russian national team defeated Belarus with the score 4-1.

The first after the silver European Championship 2016 match our team started, as it seemed, started timidly: the Byelorussian squad tried to take the opponent by a strong start and tested the vigilance of the goalkeeper, Sergey Slemzin. However, the Russian national team on the 4th minute earned a corner-kick: Lima passed by one touch, the ball got stuck in the legs of the defenders and the first to shoot turned out to be Robinho. And then there was a second goal: this time it was after the interval when Sergey Abramov send the ball beautifully from the flank into the top corner.

By the time the territorial advantage of the team of Sergey Skorovich was seen very clearly. The hosts did not see any options to continue their attacks and gave the initiative to the guests. Partly, it became possible after a swift flank attack, which was finalized by unfading Alexander Chernik.

The scored goal cheered up the Byelorussians and the whole Minsk stadium “Uruchie”, but soon there was a productive kick by Dmitriy Liskov, who killed this impulse and returned the two-fold advantage of the Russian national team. Although Romulo had all the chances to increase the lead even more, he almost reached for the ball, when he ran diagonally through the entire defense and the goalkeeper of Byelorussia.

The second half the hosts of the parquet held in positional attacks, although Ivan Poddubny that came out instead of Sergey Slemzin didn’t have a lot of work. The second half that went quite peacefully was only marked by a goal at the very end: Sergey Abramov scored his second goal. Sergey Skorovich, in addition to the second goalkeeper, threw into the battle the other players that did not participate before the break: now their time had Andrey Afanasiev, Andrey Batirev, Nikita Fakhrutdinov. Neither they nor their partners could not distinguish anymore, nor the Byelorussian national team. The team went away with the final score of 4-1 until April 12th, when they will play the decisive match in Tyumen.
