Goalkeeper of “Gazprom-UGRA” Sergei Slemzin defended Russia national team goal in the second leg of the qualifying round of the futsal championship. The game ended in a draw, 2-2. The result of the first match (4-1) allowed the Russians to book their ticket to Colombia.

– I want to say with certainty that we didn’t focus on the result of the first match. In Tyumen, we wanted to show a good game and for the second time overcome stubborn Byelorussians. However, the adversary gave us a real fight and it wasn’t easy. Yet the task is completed, it is the most important thing. We are going to Colombia, – said Slemzin in an interview to “Tyumen arena.”

– You are being interviewed with a piece of tape on you forehead…
– Game time, doesn’t really matter. I need to cover my fellow and it resulted into a collision. It seems to be nothing serious.

– We knew that the list of goalkeepers included 3 people… When did you get to know it would be you to protect the goal?
– A day before the game. The coach for goalkeepers, Gennady Garagulya, told me to get ready to play since the first minute.

– Sometimes you did not act very confident…
-We play with some balls in the Super League. In the qualifying for the world they are different. They differ with their characteristics. So sometimes I try not to take risks just rebounding the ball to the side, rather than catching it …
