Gazprom-UGRA defeated Sinara of Yekaterinburg in the first semifinal of the Super League play-offs, which was held in Yugorsk, with a score of 2-1. The second match of the semifinal series will be held tomorrow, on May 24. The meeting will begin at 16:30 Moscow time.
Kaka, Gazprom-UGRA head coach:
– I agree with my colleague that the match corresponded to the status of the semifinal. Both teams showed a beautiful, emotional and dynamic futsal with intense fighting. It was a game in which everything was decided by half moments, and they could not be avoided. I thank the players for their motivation to win, for their concentration, discipline and the right attitude. The score in the series is 1-0 in our favor, but we know perfectly well that tomorrow will be no less difficult match for both teams.
Danil Davydov, Gazprom-UGRA captain:
– We were tuning to a heavy semifinal game, and we made it. Today there was a lot of struggle on the pitch, everyone tried not to lose a single combat and there were not so many scoring chances. Tomorrow the game will be even harder, because our rival will put even more effort to equal the score. I think that “Sinara” is the most disciplined team, they run back, they always have time to control the game. Our task is note to lose the fight and win the second victory on the home ground.
Aleksey Mokhov, Sinara head coach:
– I want to congratulate our opponent on the victory. I think that the match was in line with the semifinal of the Russian Championship, there were real emotions, somewhere there was a tough, even rough game, as it should be. Today, all the nuances have been decisive. I’m grateful to the guys that they did not quit playing after two goals conceded, until the end of the match they tried to draw the score and make the match pass to the extra time. Tomorrow is the second game, I hope it will work out for us more positively.
Dmitriy Putilov, Sinara player:
It is always difficult to play against Gazprom, especially when it’s a series of playoff games. Today we tried to perform the plan of the coach, to act according to the scheme that was originally given to us for this game. I think that we had a chance to win, but unfortunately, it did not turn out to break even the meeting. Tomorrow is a new day, the second game, we will have time to analyze our mistakes. We will also tune in to win to even the score in the series.
