The Football Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region is reviving the pre-season futsal tournament.

“Urals Cup ” is a tournament with a rich history, the first competition was held 25 years ago – in 1993. And in the first drawing the winner was “VIZ”. In total, the black and white have won 8 times and become the owners of the main trophy.

Three teams at the same time follow the leader, each has won it twice: Sibiryak (2011 and 2013), Tyumen (2010 and 2012) and Gazprom-UGRA, which won “Urals Cup” under the name of “TTG-Java” in 2001 and 2007. Three times the cup went to Moscow: in 1999 with the youth national team of Russia, in 2000 with “GKI-Gazprom” and in 2005 with “CSKA”. Yekaterinburg Uralmash-Mini (1997), Chelyabinsk Phoenix (1998), Rospan-Itera from Noviy Urengoy (2002) and Zvezda-Eastland from Irkutsk (2006) won the competition once.

Vladislav Shayakhmetov: “Urals Cup ” is a good preparatory tournament and it is excellent that it was revived. A great opportunity to hold 3-4 test games before the championship, so to speak “roll in”. This is a big plus for the current season, when some teams and games may be missed. A good opportunity for the new head coach, and for the entire coaching staff to see how it is all going on, to pay attention to working moments. The main thing is to pass the tournament without injuries, so that everyone is healthy!”

This year, five teams will compete for the main trophy: Gazprom-UGRA (Yugorsk), Sinara (Ekaterinburg), Norilsk Nickel (Norilsk), Ukhta (Ukhta) and ZiK (Ekaterinburg).

Competitions will be held from August 20 to 24 in the Yekaterinburg sports arena (Yeryomin St., 10).
